Deserves the title of gastropub. They did kindly let us have affogatos though, so they rescued the situation. Myself & my boyfriend were staying very close by for a few days so we went in at least 3 times . High quality but unusual food. Good playlist and good beer. Our menu is inspired by the Mediterranean and cooked with ingredients delivered daily from Covent Garden, Billingsgate and Smithfield. Nice and relaxing atmosphere. You must also try their food can’t believe they haven’t got a Michelin star. They have board games and such, you can also get some great food here. Such a friendly atmosphere. Grounds, church and castle were in good shape. We had quite a large party for drinks and dinner over the weekend. We have struggled for years trying to find a pre-gig venue for dinner near the Apollo, but from now on I will choose the Dartmouth Castle every time, a lovely pub with fantastic food and friendly, efficient service.
