david bowie the rise and fall of ziggy stardust and the spiders from mars songs

Yes ... ignore me and the other commenters all saying the same thing ... copy and paste. I just brought a copy home from Barnes and Noble. Can anyone point me to which version this is? The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars (often shortened to Ziggy Stardust) is the fifth studio album by English musician David Bowie, released on 16 June 1972 in the United Kingdom by RCA Records. It was produced by Bowie and Ken Scott and features Bowie's backing band the Spiders from Mars – Mick Ronson, Trevor Bolder and Mick Woodmansey. One problem on the second copy is the mysterious one occurrence of a very loud ''Z'' resonance in the vocals, who distort the sound, in the song Ziggy Stardust (one of my favorite). Also it have a scratch on the last track of the Side A even in the deadwax area who affect the sound of the song. The cover is not well reproduce compare to the original one or any other release I have seen so far (yellowish and blurry). It's happening just after the first chorus part when David start singing and pronounce the word Ziggy. Just listened through my copy, no skips, pops, or surface noise of any kind. So far I haven't heard any problems (I'm actually listening to Star as I'm typing this). Bad pressing. Just got this pressing and just listened to it for the first time. "https://forums.stevehoffman.tv/threads/robert-ludwig-offers-feedback-on-1969-us-led-zeppelin-ii-rl-cut.574016/I also see this issue with other great reissues. I have a cassette version with the label number PK 1932, however different from any other versions I've seen on here the band at the top with the "RCA / Stereo / Victor" print is blue instead of red like on the other versions. I received my replacement copy from amazon today and it skipped at exactly at the same point. No issues with my copy at all. Pulled the record off the turntable and gave it a thourough cleaning. Look for lines that break./ not continuous. The front sleeve is blurry and the colors are not very good compare with my early 80's copie.

But for the vinyl itself, it's a very quiet pressing and it sound very good, a lot more of all the other versions I heard. I brought it back to the local shop and it didn't skip on their player either. All 3 have been skipping in the same spot on Star. Skips abound (similar to those saying B2 skipped). They all had the same exact issue. Ordered a new copy of this album from Amoeba online and "Star" and "Hang On .." both skipped. No problem with mine either. That helped some, but I still have 3 or 4 skips that may or may not happen in the same places when I play the album. First and second Category on cover and label, third on inner sleeve. mine was defective as well.

I'll have to replace it with a different record.

Ever. I took it back and ordered a new copy that I just got today. Thanks for the reply!!! I have had multiple copies all with the same problem as yours. Such a classic album. David Bowie is the musical Number One for me. No scratches, skips, or anything that interferes with playing, and it has excellent sound quality. Personal list of albums you should hear before you die! All must be like this. Playing it on a Rega RP1. So overall, my only complaints is about the "Z" sound distortions, the hole who is not well centered and the record jacket reproduction. 11 morceaux parfaits, 38 minutes pour l'éternité. Everything is crystal clear and crispy sounding. When the artwork is used for a lot of albums to create the LP version, they sometimes use the digital version...it’s happened on many occasions. Just half assed responses. I played it twice and then decided I couldn't live with it, and ordered another copy, this time the DBZSLP 40 version, with the DVD-A. Amoeba graciously offered to send a replacement copy and just got it yesterday and "Star" skips on replacement copy as well. 3 stars for the quality of the vinyl itself. Looks like this : Ive done a lot of reading about this album... if your copy skips on five years or star... its not your player,i picked up a copy yesterday and mine skips on star. The rest of the album plays fine w/o any skips and sounds great. I had no issues with skipping or noise on side 2 as some others seem to have. Parlophone has really lowered their quality control standards. It's a quiet one, some minor pops and clicks here and there but nothing too serious. Do you happen to have a link or address where I can do the same. The quality of the product is somewhat inconstant. Classic album in a reissue that sounds good. Same song, same spot.

I had the same issue with "Star" on my previous turntable. The main 2 problems are a very light wrapped LP who don't affect the sound but it's wrapped and not a flat record. Look for lines that break./ not continuous. I may just slightly prefer the older issue, but this one sounds very good. For the reviewer who complain about the Parlophone records company , I just read all his reviews and it's always the same (cut and paste) and all about Parlophone records so don't bother about it.Don't fear to buy this record, it's not a perfect product, but it's much better than some other rereleases I buy in the last year. It definitely is a fault in the pressing, but you may never know depending on the player/cartridge you own. Legacy (The Very Best of David Bowie) [Deluxe]. I have had the same issue.
The USA and Canadian original releases are pressed on the dynaflex vinyl technology, so very light weight and they are not the best records I own, not quiet at all (I own some of them, Aladdin Sane, Pin ups, Diamond Dogs).Overall, for all those small defects, I give it a good 3 1/2 stars on 5.

I've decided to keep the old copy, so I'm waiting for this reissue to get sold out :) Get it while you can, only colours on the cover are perhaps a bit over-saturated. I have none of these issues on my set up. People with budget turntables such as Crosleys or Victorolas will have issues (or people with improperly adjusted tone arms). My copy unfortunately has that skipping problem on Star. No problem with my copy. The clerk and I then played every copy in the store that they had. I suspect it is coming down to what set up each of us use but it certainly is not our set up that is at fault. Just picked up a copy yesterday, sounds great and in amazing shape! Many thanks. Maybe I got lucky, but my copy sounds great. Same skips. It's the best version of this LP I heard (didn't own the original UK press and only an early 80's Canadian pressing). Returning a second copy of this. Disappointed, by glad to know it's not a problem with my turntable.

It's also your best option since the Bowie records price increase insanely since his death. It occur only at one place on this record and is not there in my other copy. I give up. Argggh. I have never heard this album sounding so good! I always clean my needle after each side of a record I play, also the needle I use (Audio Technica AT440MLb) always track very well all my records, even the old ones.I tried to clean only that song of the record with an old rca diswasher D4 brush (not the new model who worth nothing) but the Z distortion sound stay there.
I agree that the colors on the cover are over-saturated, I've seen other issues that look better than this. Parlophone are an absolute disgrace. One small skip occurs during Star which is unfortunate. Very disappointed.

It's a lot distracting for me and my poor ears. Same here. Sounds great though, and no skipping as some have found. Can't wait for the reissues of Low and Heroes. All skips gone. AAA sound.
