We haven't had to use the extra vestibule yet, because we've been camping where the lowest temperature is ~40*F and the tent stays warm enough with just the rainfly pulled back to expose the doors on both ends, even if a slight breeze comes through the sides. We loved the original TL4, This one has some great upgrades. In reality some of the seams are sealed and some are not.

The A-frame design isn't the best wind capable design but I have been through many significant storms & winds previously without anything more than slightly tweaked poles. :) I love this tent! Went with footprint (first time, generally just use a poly sheet), footprint clips to tent nicely and is compact. WARNING: California`s Proposition 65 The SQ 4XT is well made like the original, but there have been many improvements. Whether it’s family trips, week-long festivals, or a scouting weekend, the more the merrier with our variety of four person tents. Like the older Timberline it is a true four-person tent with two doors, but unlike the original, one door has a large vestibule for wet boots or gear. And they were still selling the old model for the same price I paid for this one, and this one is great, all the best qualities of the old model, same easy set up, but better material and the colors are cool. This is a nice tent with big improvements over the original Timberline tent (of which I've owned 2). Strong, weatherproof, and spacious, the Timberline SQ Outfitter 4 sleeps up to four people in its A-frame structure. Having owned an earlier Timberline for about 35 years I was skeptical about the "new design". Recommend that add the vestibule. Reviewed in the United States on August 20, 2013. My family used the original Timberline 4 person tent for decades, and was pleased with its performance. The poles are sturdier and set up is just as easy if not easier than the old unit. I have high-confidence in my Timberline tent, and don't regret the purchase a bit (its already more than payed for itself for my purposes). My family (2 adults and 1 toddler) wanted to go camping but we only had a little backpacking tent.
