gsi halulite microdualist review

That being said, this is an amazing set! You can add a small canister stove (and a 110g canister) to any of the mugs when nesting the Halulite MicroDualist using the included stove bag. The included case/sink is a great feature for clean-up.

It's very light and packs very well with my little camp stove and Snow Peak 110g fuel. Please make sure that you are posting in the form of a question.

The only thing I noticed was that the sporks it comes with are difficult to clean in a trail environment.

I've been looking for an anodized cookware set for some time now.

The material is GSI’s proprietary Halulite aluminum alloy. I had decided against non-stick/Teflon coated pots, purely because a camp environment tends to be tough on your gear. Every element seems thoughtfully designed and solidly constructed of sturdy materials.

After looking for months for a good 1-2 person hiking cooking pot I finally found the GSI Microdualist. The sporks (or are they “foons”?) Non-stick does have a limited life and does eventually flake off, so avoiding this seemed best. The best I've seen.

The handle is plenty sturdy for its size. While most all components worked very well the issues with setting up the wind screen and the continued issue of the cup insulator trapping moisture were enough to bring my rating down a full notch on the scale. Reviewed in the United States on March 20, 2013. If you try to warm or cook things that might stick then it may forever be a permanent part of the bottom of your pot. It is nice to be able to fit everything you need to cook in one nice package.

The compact GSI Halulite Microdualist cookset helps you shave weight from your pack without giving up all the comforts of a full cookset. All of that fit in the stoves bag that is generally about the same size as the MicroDualist. It will fit just about anywhere, including in the MicroDualist pot if I remove a gas canister. Prognosis:  The GSI Outdoor Halulite MicroDualist cookset is a great option for two or more campers/backpackers. Two extra bowls and eating utensils are included. Fit like a glove.

We have been using the GSI Outdoors Halulite MicroDualist for the past couple of months and have been really impressed with the functionality of the whole system.

Bonus: The pot lid fits snugly over the bowl should you need to drain water or keep your grub warm after serving. The idea behind them is perfect.

And the quality and design of everything else is what really matters. It costs less than titanium and seemed, for all normal uses, to be just as resilient to wear.

It costs less than titanium and seemed, for all normal uses, to be just as resilient to wear. It holds 2 bowl/cup sets and 2 collapsible sporks.

Read honest and unbiased product reviews from our users. The nesting bowls and cups are great, just make sure you snap the lid all the way around so your coffee doesn't spill out. The Pot is non-stick, not quite as good as teflon, but it seems to be more durable than teflon, being less sensitive to cleaning and scraping whilst hot.

The entire package weighs fewer than 800 grams with a full fuel tank. There is a little bit larger one called 'dualist' that's the exact same thing but larger.

The kit is perfect! The foons suck, so just buy some aluminum or titanium utensils, plus you'll need a long spoon for the pot anyway. One night we wound up sharing a campsite with another group of through-hikers and all of them were ravingly jealous of this cook set. It could even stow in an exterior pocket. The utensils held up well and the bowls/cups were easy to use even for my young children. The MicroDualist offers a lot in a relatively small package. Lesson learned: Buy some more hefty camping utensils if you're not back-packing. I love that you can fit all of that stuff in such a small package.

This is everything I hoped.

The weight is great and the 1.6L pot was the perfect size for both of us to prep our packaged backpacking meals, ramen, and have enough left over for some herbal tea every night.

Every piece of it is useful and I can't wit to use it again.

Awesome and compact camp cook set. I take it to work with me to make some instant Jasmine rice with a little soy sauce. When boiling water for Ramen, coffee, or a couple of Mountainhouse meals, the 1.4 Liter Halulite cooking pot does the trick and allows you to boil enough for two people at the same time.

The MicroDualist also made the journey into the Grand Canyon where it served as our entire cook kitchen. My independent status may change in the future but, as of the date of publication, no relationship other than described above has been pursued or established. I noticed no blackening of the pot base and didn’t see any dings or scratches after banging it on some rocks.

Do not use these to scrap or clean, Do Not use this to pick food out of the pot.

So I broke both of the utensils during first use. It's poor. The reviews at Arizona Wanderings are my honest opinion.

I really like the added touch that it comes with a little cozie on the cups for when you put how liquid in it you don't burn yourself (or have a very hot cup). With a folding rubber-coated handle and a strainer lid, GSI Outdoors seems to have thought of everything. Only slight issue (not problem) is after so many uses it gets that little rainbow coloration from the heat on the bottom. The sip-it lids secure tightly and what’s put in the mug warm, stays warm. Its compact, lightweight and has a great little bag to clean up in.

I’ve been looking at different cooksets myself and your review convinced me to get the Halulite Microdualist. While there are no measurement indicators inside the pot, they’re in the cups and bowls.

Bought this to replace an older stainless steel set. This set is absolutely perfect for two people. I've had a chance to use the GSI Halulite Microdualist a couple of times now. You can even fit a fuel canister in one of the bowls. There's a problem loading this menu right now. They feel a little flimsy and I’m not sure how they will hold up over time. My wife and I often backpack together and so some of the smaller solo systems do not fit our needs.

They have a lot of little nooks and crannys in the collapsing mechanism.

This is exactly what I was hoping for. This is a must have if you are camping with 2-4 people and want to pack in everything for a weekend trip comfortably. I took out one mug and put a msr isopro fuel canister inside. the GSI Microdualist is perfect for a a day trip where you need a hot lunch but also excels on a multiday trip into the backcountry.

Side question.

The sporks are nice but don't get crazy with them or they might break. No coating so you can use metal too.

The neoprene sleeves come off for easy washing and everything tucks away in its water tight pouch (which I was able to use as a drinking bowl for my dogs).

The Microdualist is the perfect cook set for two people.
Perfect for two people. The perfect size for my wife and I to go backpacking with, and it's light-weight and cool looking. My wife could use some new hiking pants and I think she’d like the look of the ones your wife is wearing in the last picture. I picked up this microduelist after watching reviews on YouTube (nutnfancy, etc.)

It also analyzes reviews to verify trustworthiness. I took it backpacking with my two dogs and my son...with FOUR containers that fit inside the pot I was able to give a bowl to each of us.

It was tricky for me to figure out how to nest it with the NOT INCLUDED burner (MSR Pocket Rocket Stove).

I looked for weeks and finally stumbled upon the Halulite Microdualist set. I get the feeling they'll break pretty easy. Read honest and unbiased product reviews from our users.

And the quality and design of everything else is what really matters. Highly recommend. A good example is the handle that folds over the top to securely lock the whole thing together--it looks great and works even better! Pricey, but she loves them and they look like new after several years of hiking and travel.

Check great and honest reviews!

This thing is awesome! The one aspect of the GSI Outdoors Halulite MicroDualist  that I was not crazy about was the foons. If you use everything the way it is designed to be used there will be no problems. The sporks are not the best quality, but they'll work just fine if you don't abuse them. I scorched cobbler in it (wasn't paying attention) and all I had to do was add a little water bring to a boil and everything came right off.

This page works best with JavaScript. I've replaced my old Superfly with an MSR PocketRocket. The Halulite material definitely heats up faster. There really are no faults that I have found with this cookset.
