Later on in 1861, on December 14, Queen Victoria’s husband Prince Albert died at the age of 42. Frogmore consists of over thirty acres of private gardens within the grounds of the Home Park, adjacent to Windsor Castle. Effigies of both Victoria and Albert were made at the same time. The Royal Burial Ground is a cemetery used by the British Royal Family. The upper part was to be a summer house for the Duchess and the lower part was to be her burial place.

The burial ground lies on the Frogmore Estate, part of Windsor Home Park, in the English county of Berkshire. Victoria’s effigy was stored until her death nearly 40 years later. In the 1850s, the Duchess began construction of a domed temple nearby Frogmore House.
