While many of us in this sub know of the existence of the Eternity, I find it hard to imagine an appearance in a game that won't feel contrived. As I recall, the Eternity wasn't scrapped for parts so much as modules originally intended for the Eternity (specifically, hull sections and weapons) so the Eternity is still as built as it was, just some parts were redirected. Odds are that Eternity is still unfinished, as the occupation of the Sol System happened one month after her modules were used to repair and refit Infinity, and its hard to build a massive supercarrier without Cortana finding out and sending a guardian to the Oort Cloud. I Love the hype behind this game and all the theories and 'what if' scenarios people are coming up with. So I understand that the Infinity and her sister ship were under construction before the war even ended, which makes sense, but how can the UEG/UNSC massively expand their Spartan programs and operations when they were too broke to even build a proper memorial in Halo 3? A waste really, the thing is pushed as the best thing since the forerunners yet is barely bigger than a typical covenant assault carrier and I doubt much bbn more powerful. Honestly, it basically was the SoF 10x, and it's functions could have been easily done by other, smaller, cheaper carriers like the SoF. There are rumors that it might have crashed into the Halo ring, but as long as they don't just destroy everything and get rid of the characters as dirty as that, I'm assuming Infinity is in a bad situation they can't risk exposing themselves.
